Connect ModelBrain to Cursor

Open ModelBrain's Client Setup and click Set up Cursor: it writes Cursor's global MCP entry automatically. No project folder needed for this to work.

Steps
  1. Install ModelBrain if you haven't yet (macOS).
  2. Open ModelBrain's Client Setup. From the menu bar / tray icon, choose Client Setup….
  3. Click Set up Cursor on its card. This alone is enough for Cursor to use ModelBrain, with no folder picker and no project selection required.
  4. Refresh MCP servers in Cursor Settings, or just restart Cursor.
  5. Optional: add it to one project's rules too. The card's Add to this project… button opens a folder picker for a per-project rule file. Cancelling it changes nothing; the global setup above still works without it.
Questions

Do I have to pick a project folder to use ModelBrain in Cursor?

No. Set up Cursor writes a global MCP entry with no folder picker involved. The optional Add to this project… button is a separate, per-project rule file: useful, but not required.

What if I cancel the project-folder picker?

Nothing happens beyond that. The global setup from Set up Cursor is untouched, and there's no fallback copy-to-clipboard step.

How do I know it's connected?

Check Cursor's MCP server list in Settings, or just ask it to remember something and recall it back in a new chat.
